Spotlight problem

I can't seem to find out if this has been ask and answered so, here's the problem. EVERY time I open Spotlight, select "Show All" it opens in the same small size window. So I have to enlarge or manually redraw the window to see all the listings, enlarge and adjust the "Name" heading, the "Last Opened" heading, etc. I always open it in the "list" view. Is there a way to have Spotlight open in a larger window every time? I'm running Leopard 10.5.8. Dual 1 GHz G4. Thanks for your help.
