Maybe some of you have encountered a very puzzling Spotlight search aberration that involves files names that use hyphens. Consider the following file name:

Using Spotlight on macOS 15.5, I cannot find it using the word "cleta." I can find it with other words in the file name, for example, "post," "office," "portrait." Or a combo like, "star hunt."

ChatGPT claims that Spotlight's ability to index file names with hyphens is a known problem, indicating that the root is related to the way the file name is "tokenized." Further, I'm learning that sometimes Spotlight can handle hyphens, and sometimes not. What on earth? I've used hyphens in my file naming scheme for years involving thousands of files. What files is Spotlight not finding?

I'm looking for other confirmation that this is a problem. Can you reproduce the problem with the attached file? Have you had similar experiences? Why, why does the word "Cleta" causing Spotlight to backfire?
