Spotlight Won't Search Due Dates

I can not get spotlight (or mdfind) to return search results with specific due dates. I have tried raw queries using both com_microsoft_entourage_startDate (entourage 2008) and kMDItemDueDate but the results are always empty. I am obviously not doing the search right. Has anyone been able to make this work and have an example?
