Hi everyone!

Trying to get an iPhone 8 silicon case that isn’t one of the boring white, black or pink sand colours.

This has sent me to eBay, but I’m always sceptical of listings insisting that something is ‘official’ or ‘genuine’ over and over.

A lot of the silicon cases have printed on the box ‘iPhone 7/8 silicon case’.

I don’t know... this just feels very un-Apple. I feel like the iPhone 7 ones had ‘iPhone 7 silicon case’ on, then after ‘iPhone 8 silicon case’.

Or did genuine Apple cases ever have ‘iPhone 7/8’ written on it?

Thanks everyone! Would be really appreciated before I waste twenty quid or so on something totally fake.

Im an avid eBay shopper. I search “(iPhone model) silicone OEM case” & never pay more than $5 for a case. They may not be official/genuine but when compared to an actual Apple case, couldn’t tell the difference.

I have a few fake silicon cases for my 6s and one original and there is a huge difference if you ask me.
I can't tell if the newer cases are better in terms of quality, but the fake ones I have are very light and you can basically feel that the material is very cheap.

But again, the thing that throws me off is the weight and thickness. Apple's silicone cases have some heft to them.

When shopping for one if you're not certain, just be sure that the item description includes keywords like "100% genuine", check seller review and don't get thrown off by the (much) cheaper price.

As far as I know, genuine Apple products never had two or more products listed on the package. It will either say iPhone 7 or iPhone 8, but never iPhone 7/iPhone 8.
Also, if you're able to get them to send you a picture of the back of the package, the genuine product should have a circle with black and white ying yang arrows on the barcode label with what looks like a QR code. The fake ones are in Chinese and is missing the black and white circle with the arrows. In the two images I've uploaded, the first one is real and the second one is fake.
I hope that helps.

omg a Rihanna AND Ariana Stan? :D

Lmfao. You noticed?!
I peeped the fenty beauty cases

I had 2 cases of Rihanna for my XS Max that I got thru caseify. One was a collage of Rated R era photos and the second one was a clear case with a png of Rihanna from that Rolling Stone photoshoot where she's smoking weed in a white leotard

Good taste.

My knockoff iPhone X/Xs silicone case in "real" looking apple packaging didn't have the "velvet" inside the case touching the phone. Same silicone as the outside. Plus there were visible seams.

My knock off looks like the real thing, down to the felt finish on the inside of the case. Not bad for $12.

Yeah, I bought an off-brand silicone case on Amazon for about that price and I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference from the real thing if it had the Apple logo on it. I actually prefer that it doesn't.
