Spring Board doesnt load on iPhone 3GS

My iPhone doesnt load springboard. I previously had 4.0 firware and jailbroken with jailbreakme.com and when i turned off my phone and turned it back on it just didnt load. the apple logo turned on and there was a spiral thing circling. So then i restore my phone and the same thing is happening. I can get my phone into DFu mode and recovery mode without a problem. but i dont know how to fix the problem.
