Hello everyone,

I was hoping to get some help with the following.

It's been a long time since I did a fresh install of the OS on my 1st gen white Macbook (just after they switched the name from iBook and switched to Intel).

I'm planning on reinstalling a clean version of OSX 10.6 (and installing any necessary updates).

I have an external drive with a clone of the internal drive on it (just in case).

While the goal is to obviously start with a clean slate, there are a couple things which concern me and was hoping to get some help with.

I finally got an iPhone 4 this past year and am curious about the best way to transfer my iTunes library, along with all my apps, to the new install.

I found this knowledgebase article from Apple:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751

It doesn't explicitly mention apps, but I'm assuming that this is included under the iTunes media.

Has anyone tried this or something similar?

Let me know :apple:

that will save your whole library but when I did it recently I lost my playlists and iPhone backup. I'm not sure where those files are located. Hope that helps.
