I noticed my iPhone X did a springboard reload a couple of times but today the phone turned off for no reason and would not turn back on for several minutes. It then showed the spinning wheel every ten seconds for a while before flashing the Apple logo 3 times and then it finally restarted.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Was it doing an iOS update?

My wife’s X did a springboard crash/reboot while it was charging. She went to wake up the screen..it woke up..then showed the Apple logo quickly...then showed the lock screen again.

a good respring reboot fart is always nice on this $1000+ gear

I only get it entering password with faceID disabled when I tried that out

every 5th or 6th time it would respring reboot fart

otherwise relatively smooth sailing

Not to be annoying, but just curious...do you see “system memory reset” in your diagnostics logs?

Same thing happened to me today 3 times, same password procedure, no Face ID.

I had some major springboard crashes today on my iPhone X and it litteraly came out of nowhere, one was so bad the X wouldn’t turn back on and was stuck on the Apple logo screen, i managed to revive it after doing several hard resets and I’m truly clueless as to what may be the cause of this because I had my X since day one and this is the first time I experienced such odd issues. I hope iOS 11.2 comes out quickly as it seems like the current public version of iOS 11 is a buggy mess.

Thanks for the information. Would you mind checking your diagnostic logs to see if you see "system memory reset" appear? I'm just curious if it's the same issue we're getting.

Also, was your phone charging or anything when it happened?

No it wasn't charging, It just happened to me again 5 minutes, I'm clueless as to what to do now, my iPhone X is literally inoperable, the springboard restarts and crashes the iphone multiple times in an hour at random times and i can't use the phone anymore as i don't know when its going to crash again

There are a 8 analytics reports under Settings > Privacy > Analytics > Analytics Data for "accessoryd-2017-11-24-160117.ips" and several others below it relating to "accessoryd" , what is accessoryd?

Try an iTunes restore.
If it still does it bring it to Apple. Might be hardware related.

You're paying for the hardware. The OS is free and also runs on an iPhone 5s. Other than specifics to various features for each model of iPhone it's no different on the X than on the 5s.

Personally, I think Apple should have had some special sort of OS for it (it's the 10th Anniversary edition after all), but…well that's Apple for you. They take away and don't give when they feel like it.

I don't think they're sorted by date but by type...do you see any "system memory reset" logs?

Yah I know I was just being facetious :p

im seeing a bunch of "panic-full" crash logs in my analytics menu, not the "memory" issues some of the users specified above, do i have hardware issue here?

i made an encrypted backup with itunes just now and i want to try a full restore and then restore from backup but im afraid that the "backup" itunes just did is corrupted which would result me in losing all my data.

What makes you think that the backup is corrupt?
Rename the iphone to something different and create another backup. This way you have 2 backups for your phones backup. Just in case the 1st backup didn't backup right so you have a 2nd backup just for backup ;)

I think I definitely have a hardware problem on my hands here with my iPhone X, I did a full restore and I’m officially screwed because now I can’t restore from the iTunes backup, as soon as I initiate the restore process in iTunes from my iMac, a message pops up saying the iphone couldn’t be restored because the iPhone was disconnected,( it is properly connected with a new lightning cable), is it safe to assume this is a hardware defect? I made a genius appt for today

After the full clean install the springboard crash and iPhone restart happened again several minutes ago, it is labeled as “panic-base” under the analytics submenu in the logs
