Sprint today expanded its ongoing bill-slashing promotional campaign to its subsidiary Boost Mobile, giving Cricket and MetroPCS customers a chance to lower their monthly cell phone payments by switching to Boost Mobile service.

Through July 20, Cricket and MetroPCS subscribers who bring their phone number to Boost Mobile can save between $20 and $30 per month for a full year with the promotional plan. Customers will be required to purchase a compatible Boost device to take advantage of the deal.

The value associated with the Slash Your Payment in Half promotion from Boost Mobile is undeniable. A MetroPCS customer that is currently receiving 2GB of data for $40 a month, can now get 2.5GB of high-speed data from Boost Mobile for just $20, while a Cricket customer receiving 10GB of data for $60, can now get the same amount of data for only $30 a month.
Following the year-long promo period, customers who switched to Boost Mobile will be migrated to the Boost Mobile plan that offers a comparable amount of data, with prices that range from $30 to $55 per month.

Sprint began running its bill slashing promotion in December, offering Verizon and AT&T customers a chance to cut their payments in half by switching to Sprint. The promo is still available for eligible AT&T and Verizon customers.

Wow, sounds like Sprint is getting very desperate for customers. How on earth are they profiting from this?

Not going to Sprint is a very smart idea. Unbeknownst to us (12 year Sprint customers on family plan - in good standing), Sprint put our account on "fraud alert" and never informed us. The day before a trip abroad we could not enable our international data and voice service and had to deal with the worlds worst customer service. We were told they just hap-haphazardly place people on fraud alert, that there was no rhyme or reason. So, we found out what they do to good customers like us.
 
Sprint should be paying me for using their service.

Seriously though, I'm grandfathered into an older unlimited data plan, and although I'm only paying $50 a month PLUS getting subsidized phones, it's not worth it. I cannot seriously recommend sprint to anyone because of how shoddy their coverage is.

In Detroit, (a major metropolitan area mind you) LTE is hit-or-miss, and 3G is abysmal- literally unusable in most cases. Once my contract is up, there is 0% chance of me sticking with them.
 
Every time I see their commercials on TV with a chainsaw cutting the Verizon and AT&T bills in half, I think to myself, "Cut the bill in half, cut the service in half".

Also, every time I think about switching to T-Mobile, I pull up their LTE coverage map, put it next to Verizon's LTE map, look at the areas where I travel, and it becomes clear that T-Mo is not yet a viable option for me. I hope Legere and company deliver on their promise to convert all those 2G areas to LTE soon.

I had AT&T for 16 years and finally got fed up with them and moved to Sprint. Their service was so bad, I left before my contract was up and went back to AT&T! I switched to Sprint and changed to an Android phone (HTC Evo). The phone picked up some glitch where every time I went to the home screen, the desktop would reboot! Every. Single. Time! And each time it was 30 seconds. I literally had to figure out how to use my phone without going to the home screen!

I called up Sprint. Their response? Well we don't make the software, google does. I reminded them that they modified their software and no other versions of Android are having this problem. I was then told, "but the phone works, right?" I gave the rep a scenario. Imagine you're in your car at the red light. The light turns green and you step on the gas. 30 seconds later, your car starts moving. You get to the next light and stop. The light turns green and you repeat the process. I asked, "Would you **honestly** be happy with that? The rep's response? "Uh...erhh...ahhh. yeah! I mean, it's still working, right?"

I then called the store in which I bought the device. At one point, the rep hung up on me! I then got in my car and drove to the store. When the rep saw me, she ran out of the store!!!! I talked to the other rep and he was a nice enough guy, but told me that they just sell phones and don't have a solution if there's a software glitch and I should wait for the next version of google OS. "When is that going to happen, considering you guys have to get it and then modify it the way you normally do?" He didn't know.

I called Sprint and told the rep that I'm cancelling my contract. We landed up settling my remaining balance at 25 cents on the dollar. I will NEVER use Sprint again. And while I have nothing against Android, one of their biggest issues is their splintered OS. "Android Lollipop will be available for this phone on the 30th, for these other phones maybe a month later if HTC feels like updating things and those other phones??? Who knows?" What the rep *should* have done was offer me a completely different phone. He didn't do so. Like I said, I'll never use Sprint.
