Carrier Sprint iPad Air on an AT&T SIM?

I am looking at buying a used ipad air and the guy said it is a Sprint ipad but I have seen some people online saying it will work with an Att sim. Does anyone here know if this will work?

If indeed it is an Air it will work with an ATT sim.

I just called Apple tech support and they claim that if he doesnt take it to the Sprint store first and have them unlock it, it will not work

The Sprint one might be the only one that isn't totally usable on other networks. I wouldn't buy it. I know the Verizon and T-Mobile ones can be used on AT&T right out of the box, so just play it safe and buy one from one of the other 3 carriers.
