Hi all,
Long time lurker here. Finally am gonna retire my 3G and also jump ship to Sprint.
I was finally able to get my pre-order through last night on the Sprint site (the apple site wasn't working at the time). I joined my mom's plan, and since they only ship to the billing address, currently it's scheduled to ship to my mom's house ~500 miles away.
Spent an hour on hold this morning, and was finally able to get through the Sprint ordering department. They said they couldn't change the shipping address at all. Their alternative was to call UPS (who they said would be doing the shipping), after I get the tracking number and get them to send it to a nearby holding facility or UPS store. They said they've done this before & often; but since the customer service for Sprint is absolutely horrid, I'm inclined to not believe them.
I did a search and couldn't find anything, so has anybody on here dealing with a similar issue? Or have gotten it to be shipped to a different address?
I just find it hard to believe that I can call UPS and they would happily reroute my package to a different city hundreds of miles away, do they just send it to a UPS facility local to the shipping address they have on file?
