Got mine and all I can say is WOW Go Sprint!! My DATA is fast, my phone calls are GREAT quality....I just LOVEEEEE my new iPhone!!!

as a long time AT&T owner, I have to admit I am a little jealous of Sprint customers right now.

The question is fast compared to what. I'm a little scared to leave the generally blazing 4G speeds of my Evo. Thinking I'll get a 4S for the wife and see how she likes it.

Yes, still waiting on mine to be delivered too. Also curious how fast is considered "fast"....

I really want to switch to Sprint for the better deal, but I'm a little worried about the data speed! According to iLounge, it isn't much better than EDGE! Anyone with a Sprint 4S, post your Speedtest.net screenshots.

 Those speeds look terrible! I want to be able to stream Spotify without interruption and occasionally watch a video - if it's not better than EDGE, then I'd rather switch to AT&T if I'm going to leave T-Mobile!

Though not blazing fast...on my evo (3g, Wimax turned off) i get over 0.5Mbps down consistently...sometimes hit 1Mbps. I live in KC.

LA and NYC people using the 4S on Sprint please chime in and report data speeds!?

thanks

I've been telling you people for weeks... Sprint is suffering from terrible network speeds, this began about 6 months ago, it's nationwide according to other users accounts. Sprint knows of this and it doesn't seem an issue that will be fixed until late next year.

If you want "unlimited" data, you're going to have to put up with poor transfer speeds.

lol @ sprint... data is so slow and all I really like from them is for them to keep the unlimited data and cheaper rate plans.. This way more 2Gigers of data from ATT can go over there to release some space for ATT long time users

Location Location Location.
Don't judge Sprint speeds by one persons test.
Coverage varies and you may have great service in one area, crap in the other.
The Sprint speeds Gizmodo collected from users was on par with Verizon....

Oh no, those speeds are worse than EDGE :(

They are better than EDGE, but I was really hoping to see an average down of closer to 1Mbps on Sprint. That's enough for decent Netflix watching when not in Wi-Fi.

Speeds do vary by location. I think these tests were done in Buffalo, NY. I'm going to wait to see more reports on speed.

I walked into a Print store this morning and walked out 20-30 minutes as a new proud owner of a iphone 4gs. having had a Photon, all Evo's and just recently the Epic Touch, this phone phone is great. I haven't went under 4 bars signal strenght. The call quality is very clear. Also when i got the phone, it was dead. The sales rep charged it up for about 20 minutes. It was still in the red...like a small red strip of red. Anyways, I drove an hour w/out any charger before I got home. I made calls and sent a few text. And the phone still didn't die.

Data speeds have been ok. I really don't put that much thought into it because I'm normally always around wifi.

But overall, I'm highly satisfied :)

Got my iphone 4s today and boy I am already thinking of switching to AT&T. Max 3G speed I am getting is 0.7 mpbs  I live in a metro area btw (Houston,TX)

it's been longer then 6 months. It was a few months after the EVO release. So many ppl bought that phone and the network went to crap. When I first bought the Evo I was getting 1.85Mbps and then Dec or Jan the speed went down to .26-.55Mbps. I left Sprint because not only did my speeds start suffering I started getting text late and dropped calls and that never happened for the 5 years I was there.
