Hi, I bought an iphone 5 locked to Sprint carrier in the US.

I live in Canada so would it work here when I put in my GSM Rogers SIM card?
I'm not sure if the phone has good or bad ESN but would that matter anyways?
my understanding is that a phone with bad ESN can not be activated with sprint?

can someone help me out please? again I'm not gonna use the phone with a US carrier, I'm gonna be using it in Canada.

Joe.

About the Sprint i5 Im not 100% but I think it would have to be unlocked by Sprint for international use before you can use it outside the US with any GSM carrier.

that's what I thought initially but then I researched and seems like people can get it to work, I just want someone here who have been down the same road to confirm it.
