If I put in a Sprint nano SIM from a different Sprint phone into a Sprint iPhone 5, will it work without having to call the carrier/Sprint to activate? I'm not familiar with how CDMA network iPhones work, so not sure if they work the same as GSM iPhones.

Thanks for any answers you can provide.

SIMs from the 5c/5s/6/6+ are compatible with each other but not with the 5.

SIMs from a 4s won't work in a 5 and the Sprint iPhone 4 does not have a SIM slot.

So. If the SIM you intend to use is from anything OTHER than a Sprint iPhone 5 (including any Android/Windows phones) it won't work. But if it's from another Sprint iPhone 5 it will.

Sprint had one SIM model for the iPhone 5 and an entirely different one for the 5c and above. They look the same but they are not.

Sprint will provide you with a free SIM upon request. Although that's probably not what you want if you're trying to swap phones on an already active line.
