Switching from Sprint.
Worst service I've ever had.
Worst mistake I ever made was switching to Sprint.
The last year was essentially hell in real life.
Switching to a carrier with standards and a proper LTE buildout this year.

2014 is going to be great for Sprint and I can't wait.

San Fran is pretty dense with LTE, Sacramento is getting there, and the rest is pretty sparse. (My 1 minute summary!)

did you get backorder email. I got backorder email for my 16gb gold with in few mins. 3weeks backorder
Mine doesn't say backordered, just that it will ship in "up to" three weeks. Who knows, maybe these will start shipping out sooner.
Do you know when the WiMax towers are getting converted to LTE? I have one next door.
No I didn't, but I've heard the rumor that the gold was in lower supply. Oh the order email says the same as what was said above (will ship in up to 3 weeks) but going to myorder page, it says 2-5 days it will ship. So we'll see what happens.
I was able to place an order for the gold 16 GB on the Sprint website at 12:05 pst.
I got the back order email immediately.

My Gray 32GB 5S just got a tracking number, so the issue only seems to be with the Gold phones. I placed my order at 12:07AM PST.
Although mine still says it will take "up to three weeks" for delivery, it seems mine might come early next week. Hooray!

From late 2012 to present 2013... no improvements, LTE is subpar and doesnt even work half the time in Washington, DC. A primary market.
WORST. SERVICE. EVER.
EVERYWHERE I am/go.. EVERYWHERE.. I am the only one without LTE. All my friends around me on all three of the other major carriers have LTE. I am stuck on 3G nine out of ten times. It's pathetic. Even after I get my new phone, I feel like it's still going to haunt me that for that one year I had next to no service.
I can't post screenshots, but it looks like about 50% of the towers in DC are LTE, while the other 50% are still 3G which may or may not be running on new fiber backhaul.
My guess is that the LTE towers are totally saturated because most of the 3G towers haven't been upgraded to pick up the slack of all the LTE customers yet.
So basically, what you've got is a city that will have a ton of LTE coverage since it's still pretty dense with LTE, but not dense enough to accommodate all of the traffic yet. Once every tower gets LTE switched on, it should be better since there will be more towers with more backhaul to take the load. But unfortunately DC's buildout isn't done yet.

Has anyone been able to get a gold on Sprint? I went to my sprint store on opening friday and they didn't have a single one, called both apple stores near me and same result, best buy same thing. They put me on a "waiting list" in which I was 4th and had to put $50 down saying it should be soon yet when I call some employees say it could be late october.
Not yet...it's only been 2 days, though. I'm on the waiting list, too, but i don't know how far down I am. I'll periodically call around to other stores I didn't pre-order from.
