Sprint iPhone speeds in San Diego?

I heard about how many people experience very slow speeds on Sprint with the iPhone 4s. Is that a problem that affects most people in a given location or only some people? Is anything being done to fix it? I'm interested in getting one but am afraid of slow data.

How are your speeds, particularly in San Diego?

The question is specifically for the iPhone 4s. In places where they have 3G coverage, people have said that their Android phones get 1 or 2 mbps while the iPhone 4s gets maybe 0.5 mbps.

I'm in the Seattle area, but have no complaints about speeds on my 4S, it's better than my Evo was on 3G.
