SPSS 17 installer doesn't run

I just bought a macbook 10.6.2
and I've got a CD with SPSS 17.0 (inclusive license etc)
the macbook does read the CD but does not run the SPSS installer when I try to open it

Anyone suggestions?

it says that is does not work with snow leo... sry

Does the installer spit out any errors
