welll.... I put these two things together and thought it might be an issue:

http://tech.yahoo.com/news/pcworld/20090702/tc_pcworld/applepatchingserioussmsvulnerabilityoniphone

"The SMS vulnerability allows an attacker to run software code on the phone that is sent by SMS over a mobile operator's network. The malicious code could include commands to monitor the location of the phone using GPS, turn on the phone's microphone to eavesdrop on conversations, or make the phone join a distributed denial of service attack or a botnet, Miller said"

seems like something that could happen with or without the jailbreak....

Oh that. Different thing altogether from spyware. Anyway, that's going to be fixed by Apple. I wouldn't worry about it so much, but if you really are stressed out about it, don't SMS until they patch it.

oh ok, :)

yeah I thought maybe they could access your phone by sending it to you thru sms.

I hope I'm not driving you all crazy, this is still new to me, but I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the phone and all the cool things it can do :)

No problem at all. That's what these forums are for. Have fun and enjoy the iPhone experience. :)
