Opinions? Experience? vs. Applecare...

My wife, who is gravity-challenged tends to drop things a lot, occasionally into water. Applecare doesn't cover that so I got her a SquareTrade plan. I tend to be a bit more reliable on the not-dropping front so at this point I haven't purchased AppleCare or Square Trade.

I also got a SquareTrade warranty when I purchased my iPad. However, I heard about another option with Worth Ave Group and decided to cancel my SquareTrade warranty (within 60 days, so full refund). WAG seemed a better deal for me as they covered theft and water immersion, unlike ST. Just wanted to pass along other options, but either would be better than AppleCare IMO.

However, Worth Ave. Group only covers ACCIDENTAL damage. They do cover mechanical and electrical failures that occur in normal use as Squaretrade does. Not better or worse, just different.
