Hello,

I want to use my iPhone warranty, but not on my phone. My GF's home button doesn't work on her iPhone, and she doesn't have any insurance; however, I have one, but I've never used it. Can Squaretrade trace somehow that I'm bringing them different iPhone for repair? We are at AT&T.

Thanks.

Two things.

1. Yes, Square Trade or any warranty company will be able to identify the serial number of the device and determine that they don't have a warranty listed for the phone.

2. I thought Square Trade was a send-in kind of thing. Didn't think you brought the device into the AT&T store to do any repairs/swaps using a third party warranty.

The only thing Square Trade has is my AT&T receipt that doesn't state any serial number. It has tracking # of the phone. So the only thing I can think of is tracing it with AT&T; but why a company would contact AT&T and ask for the serial number of the device and more then that, why AT&T would provide it to Square Trade.
