Lets say I purchase a squaretrade warranty for my iphone. A year and a half later I drop the phone and break the screen. Will they still give me the $599? Or does the $599 decrease as the warranty ages.

They won't give you the money they will replace the screen. If it is worse than that they will give you enough to buy the same model with a new two year contract.
