Should I buy a SquareTrade warranty? The 2-year warranty is $299, and the 3-year warranty is $399. AppleCare is $349.

SquareTrade covers accidents such as dropping and liquid spills, whereas AppleCare does not cover that. SquareTrade will give you cash for your broken laptop, so you can buy the latest laptop available at the time of breaking. Apple will only give you a refurbished copy of the laptop you broke.

I definitely don't think AppleCare is worth it. Is SquareTrade worth it? What do you think?

The 2-year SquareTrade is a fair deal if there is a 10% chance that my rMBP gets destroyed in the first 2 years. The warranty also provides peace of mind.

The 3-year SquareTrade is a fair deal if there is a 13.3% chance that my rMBP gets destroyed in the first 3 years.
