Hi
Whenever I'm in Windows XP via bootcamp, I will ALWAYS hear a VERY loud high pitch squeaky noise when my hands are above the left speaker (near the hinge) I can even make musical rhythms with it too with it...sorta
Also, when I rub against the left speaker holes, it also makes some noise

but the noise never occur in Leopard....

why is that?
anyone have this problem?

Call Apple

Ive only seen this once in my life and it was on a PC laptop. Its a really really weird phenomenon that a bunch of us (technicians) could not figure out how to solve. We sent the laptop to the manufacterer and it came back fixed and on the note it said they had to replace the speaker assembly. So you may wanna call apple and ask about replacement.

Solution?

Hmm...i had the same problem as you did..so i figured it could be something wrong with the macbook pro's mic in xp, which was situated at the left speaker..i went to volume control and turned down the mic volume. Seems like after that, the problem went away =)
You might want to check that out, haha...the problem can be quite a bother ;)
