As many of you have probably seen, I've posted numerous threads in search for advise on the upgrading of my setup for more intense media and graphics work. I've looked at Mac Pro's, souped up next-gen iMacs, and back again, but never have I really taken a look at the SR MacBook Pro.

Would a SR MBP + 30" LCD make for a good rig for:

CS3 work with 10+ megapixel images and large files
Final Cut Express Editing

What do you think?
 
Yes.

Just get a fast FW800 external drive for your scratch disk.
 
That's what I was thinking. In fact, With a FW 800 drive, it could even run faster than the internal drive as far as accessing files.
