SS Space Black and Alu Space Grey solid metal?

Are the SS Space Black and Alu Space Grey solid metal, so that if I scratch the case I wouldn't see "white" metal?

I believe the Alu Space Grey is anodized which I don't know it means . . . the color is "fused" is some way, but how deep is the grey color?

Regarding the stainless steel Black, if it's not solid black in color how deep is the color? Probably better than just "painted" on?

Space Grey is anodized and will probably scratch. Space Black is a DLC and shouldn't scratch, assuming Apple used a good process.
