Has anyone done a comparison between
1) MBP 13 with aftermarket SSD
and
2) MBA 13 with native 128 SSD?

I have heard the MBA SSD is faster as it is somehow more integrated into the mother board, vs the aftermarket add-on SSDs which aren't.

how true is this?

It shouldn't be. It's not really more integrated, and it uses the sama SATA II connection that the MBPs have used until now, so it really shouldn't be any faster, unless the SSD is just faster.

The MBA SSD might be faster due to custom tweaked Apple firmware. I've been wondering if the MBPs have the same tweaked Apple firmware, however, and would love to hear from anyone who might know.
