I have a 2009 mbp that I upgraded to 8 gb RAM and a samsung 830 ssd. I'm currently running into some problems:

  • My mbp freezes a lot (beachball), only way to solve this is to do a force shut down
  • I can't run blackmagic speed test, it gives an error
  • I can't do a software update (it freezes)
  • I can't install big software programs (they freeze)

All these things make me believe my ssd is failing, although its smart status is still 'checked'.

Is there a way to make sure it's really my ssd and to give me proof to send it back to get it fixed?

Change it back to the original HDD to see if the problem is still there?
