Hi everybody and thanks for reading. I'm wanting to buy a 256gb SSD, my question is since I have Snow Leopard, do I need to update to Lion or ML for the SSD to work or will it work with a clean install on Snow Leopard?

I use(d) three SSDs in Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard successfully, first a Vertex 2 60 GB SSD, then a Vertex 3 120 GB SSD and a Crucial M4 256 GB SSD in a 2007 iMac and a 2009 MBP. No problems yet.

I would make sure you are on OS X 10.6.8 so that you can hackivate TRIM with Trim Enabler.

Agree with this. Apple won't enable TRIM for 3rd party SSD's and regardless of which one you get TRIM is definitely a good thing.

Thank you very much!! Forgot to say that im on 10.6.8. I will wait on a good deal and get the TRIM Enabler then !
