I am sure this question has been answered in the past. I am looking to put my HDD into and enclosure or even the optical drive area of my MacBook and purchasing a SSD. I am not a techie, but should be capable of doing the switch in oh say a couple of days, haha. Anyway I was looking for suggestions of SSD, I do run a virtual machine on my MBP and want to be able to do a clone of my existing computer. Can anyone suggest a good product? I was looking at the OWC mercury ...... just don't want to buy things I will not need/have just sitting around.

Thanks all for the help, appreciate it. Joe

I highly recommend the Samsung Evo series from Amazon.

I put one in my 2011 MBP and it had 500+ read speeds and was really amazing. I didn't have any issues with OS X or any installation.

the tech guys in my office mentioned they use that particular drive for windows based computers. Will I need any other equipment to get that drive going?

Can I also get the 6G if I intend on putting it in the current HDD location?
