Hi, i have an old MacBook Pro 15" the model is MacBook Pro 5,3.

I know its an old machine, but right now its really lagging.
The spec is:
2.66ghz Intel core 2 Duo
8 GB Ram DDR3
320 Sata Disk.

I've change the ram from 4 to 8 right now, but still its lagging.
Im thinking of buying a SSD as what my friend suggested.
Do you think a SSD will solve this lag problems? and if so, do i need a specific SSD for my mac? because i heard that the SSD is special :p

thank you :apple:

Hi,

your Macbook is a Mid-2009 model.

It does not need a "special SSD" : any 2.5" SSD will work.

This Mac has a SATA II connexion (3 Gbps), therefore there is no need to buy a "fast" SSD, the "slowest" and cheapest SSD will be fine.

Example : Crucial BX100.

A SSD will transform you Macbook Pro.
