Hi,

I have bought a used Macbook just to take round with me and use for internet etc.

It has a 160GB HDD but I am looking for more speed and want the most I can get out of it.

Can anyone link me to a SSD for it? Actually, CAN you even put a SSD in it?

Also are there any downsides to the SSD in this particular macbook?

You can put an SSD in it easily.

I've done it several times for friends.

Downside is the SATA I speeds you are limited to. Current SSDs are capable of SATA III. You are limited to the SATA controller speeds.

But this limits usually only sequential throughput. The important random IOs are most times below 100 MB/s. So just go and buy one.
