hey guys im buying a new macbook 15 pro non retina. i also bought a 128 gigs samsung ssd that i plan to use as the boot drive and use the 500 gig hdd in place of my optical drive.

wats the perfect setup for this dual drive usage? i want my downloads, itunes, movies, and other space consuming files in my hdd while i want my ssd to remain fast and load applications quick and whatnot.

i looked at this website,

http://mattgemmell.com/2011/06/21/using-os-x-with-an-ssd-plus-hdd-setup/

and its telling me to transfer file locations using terminal. is this an optimal setup or is there something better?

also is it recommended to keep my applications on my ssd or harddrive.

please help guys.

So this may be old and you may have already done something, but I think you should get the Optibay.

I have heard great reviews and i would use it myself if i had a :apple: MacBook of some sorts. :p

But, yeah, this is what I would reccomend.
