I consider adding a SSD HD to my new 2011 imac equipped with 2TB HDD(Not replacing). I'm not doing it myself but rather hand the job over to a technician. Those of you who did this? What about the temperature issue? After installing the SSD under the HDD, what happens with the imac's heat control?
 
There's no heat issue.

SSDs are cooler than HDs.

They don't report correctly though. In my MBP, the SSD currently shows 150*C (next highest temp is the CPU at 40*C - and yes it's really Celsius). It doesn't make a difference as far as fan speeds or anything in the laptop.
