I am planning on buying an SSD (256 GB) for my 2010 MacBookPro to replace my HDD. I think I would be fine physically replacing the drives however I am unsure about the software steps.

How do I go about putting the OS on SSD and transferring any data?? (I'm guessing the later can be done through time machine)

Also are there any recommendations about which SSD I should buy? I was looking on Crucial.co.uk and I think there are four options - all slightly different in price.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks
