I just got bought a 4-month old MBP with Apple's stock 128GB SSD. From time to time I notice a high pitch sound coming from the machine. With past computers I would attribute the sound to HDD heads. Are SSDs truly noiseless or can they make noises during periods of heavy operation? I noticed the sound when I was doing a clean install of Lion for example.

Thanks.

SSDs are silent, there are no moving parts, there's no way that noise is coming from an SSD, open it up and have a closer look
