Macbook Pro 13" Mid 2010
I want to replace the optibay in my mac and put in a caddy with an SSD. I have already tried with a SATA III SSD (Samsung 830) but it didn't seem to work. When I check system information it says 'link speed: 3Gb ; negotiated link speed: 1.5Gb'. I don't know what this means- whether it is SATA II or SATA I, it's quite confusing. So I was wondering what kind of SSD will work in my macbook pro. I thought the SATA 3 ssd will drop to SATA 2 speeds, but apparently it doesn't work at all. Will this work? - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Sol...7G78/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1342390926&sr=8-6
Please, this is quite a complicated topic and I'm putting a large amount of money (to me, anyway) on the line here, so I would really appreciate if only those with first hand experience or those who have some kind of expertise in this topic answer and help out.
Many thanks, Alex.
