Hi,

I have been searching the forums on how to mount an SSD in place of the optical drive in my mid-2010 iMac, using a caddy as you would in a MacBook Pro. I have found a few posts and instructions related to doing this on a 2009 model - does it also work in the same manner for the 2010 model?

There are loads of instructions out there how to add the SSD by removing the logic board and using the spare SATA connector, but I do not feel confident about the logic board removal, or at least unscrewing of it to get to the connector behind.

If it works for a 2010 iMac with the optical drive connector, what caddies are suitable - eBay has loads for the MacBook, but just one or two mentioning iMac, and even these are not very clear about it.

Thanks, Henrik

Yeah, sorry, I did it with my 2009 iMac so I can't help you.
I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work the same though...
