Hey,

I got a unibody macbook pro and installed a 240gb ocz vertex 3. The drive is in the computer but it has not been formatted yet. I booted the mbp while holding down the option key to get into recovery mode. Sadly theres no option to format the drive. If i boot the mbp while holding down shift i get to a white screen with a big question mark on it.

So question is, how can i format the ssd now and install lion on it?

Thanks in advance :)

To enter Recovery Mode, hold down <cmd>-R after the boot-chime. The command key is located between the alt/option key and the space bar.

Don't hold them down before the chime and don't wait too long after it either.

If you got the drive brand new and not done anything with it yet then you will likely need to partition it first before you can install or clone to it. This can be done in Disk Utility.
