I just got my intel 160 gb ssd. I am comfortable with installing it. However I am not sure of how to move my data to the SSD.

1. Should i do a fresh install of lion?

2. How do i get lion as a fresh install, being that I got it from the app store?

Thanks

I have always had better luck with fresh installs, Whenever i swapped HDD's (3 times now) I've done clean installs.

As for the process of doing it, you've got a couple of options. If your machine originally came with SL, you could install SL first via disc and then download lion through the app store. Or you could download the lion recovery tool from Apple's webpage and and have that on a thumb drive ready for your install.

If i did the fresh install, will it be easy to put the old data back onto the ssd at least the important stuff? and if i kept my music and videos on the external leftover drive would the drive always need to be plugged in to access all of this data?
