About to pull the trigger on a 13" MBP w/a SSD.

Was wondering if anyone here has experience with solid state drives~ good, bad, etc.

Any issues with long-term reliability? Heavy use (i.e. write + re-write)?

Also, does anyone have any information regarding the specific type/brand of SSDs in use for the Macbooks?

TIA...

Agreed. I'd have a hard time swallowing the $400 Apple charges for an 'unknown' SSD when the best one on the market is available separately for $300.

Personally, I haven't had much issue w/Toshiba memory/storage products in the past~ which I believe is the SSD in the MBPs.

The SSD which comes w/the MBP may cost (approx.) $100 more, but it also stores forty-eight more gigs (assuming you're referring to the 80 gig X-25M G2)
