I installed a Samsung 840 Evo into my 2012 cMBP 13'.

Everything is snappy etc. but now the mbp is running hotter than usual. iStat Menu showing my CPUs at 150º F which is way above normal.

Reset PRAM and SMC multiple times and its still running hot

I took the SSD out and put the old HDD back in and its all fine.

question: Can a bad SSD cause the temps to spike like that or is that normal for a MBP?

is the SSD not compatible or is just a dud?

I have searched the web and these forums all weekend and still can't find any info.

thanks.
