Hi

I just cloned my stock HD to my X25 SSD by putting the SSD into an external enclosure with FW800

then i replaced the HD with the SSD

and the 13" MBP started correctly with in the SSD inside ! (EFI 1.7... i'm so happy)

but i realized that the boot time is exactly the same as with the HD... 35 seconds !

some people having the same machine and SSD told me that boot time should be closer to 15 seconds !!!

is the clone (with SL installed) the cause of the slow performance?

should i make a clean reinstall of SL ?

any idea ?

thx

My 128 gig SSD (apple stock model) boots in about 30 seconds on Snow Leopard. I have never had it boot in 15.

As for performance, everyday use such as booting apps should be completely faster and very noticeable.

OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH MY GOD

just did a clean install

(20 minutes with the SSD vs 45 minutes with the HD)

i just released the beast sleeping inside my MBP :) :) :)

booting in 15 seconds

applications launching in a blink of the eye

AMAZING

i'm so surprised

such a difference between the update and the clean instal !!!
