Hi,
I'm still waiting for my nMP to arrive but am currently facing a problem that will come up again alter when the machine arrives:
After Effects Media Cache.
I currently have it on my Pegasus R6. It should be absolutely fast enough, but my footage lies on the same raid, so I don't know if that's a big problem at throughputs like this.
I was planning to put the media cache on the internal 512gb ssd on the nmp, even though some of you warned of ssd degradation.
But I'm currently running into severe slow downs using rotobrush in after effects which always gets faster again after purging the disc cache. So I was wondering if getting a fast thunderbolt or usb 3 ssd just as a scratch disk might help my workflow. Also in regards of the longevity of my new internal ssd...
right now I'm on a late 2012 imac and only have a 128gb ssd internally
What do you think?
