Right I have only 37GB left on original HDD on my late 2007 MBP I have hard time to decide which to go with 128GB SSD any brand name or Seagate Momentus XT. I have two reasons I need more space and I need more speed so if I choose 128GB SSD and I would still have 37GB left space on SSD after transfer all data from HDD. :(

I know that SATA 1 is not very fast than SATA 3 so the performance does not matter for SSD?

My purpose is to make video editing with both iMovie and FCPX I save all movies on external firewire 800 Seagate GoFlex HDD.

Hope you all can help me.

Thank you

It seems like you need space rather than speed.
Go with momentus.

If you have the cash try data double by OWC

Agreed. I used a 500gb XT before going with a Samsung SSD and was impressed with the improvement over the standard HDD. Got a bump in speed and the extra space is always good.

I put a Momentus XT in my wife's MacBook an it was beach all hell. Went through 3 different revs of firmware with no luck. I got her another Momentus(non hybrid) with similar issues. She now had a WD 7200 rpm that has been problem free.
