I just checked Apple's website and discovered that adding a SSD adds a different price to every laptop . For the 13" 2.3 GHz a 128GB SSD it is $250, for the 13" 2.7 GHz a 128GB SSD it is $200, for the 15" 2.0 GHz it's $200 and for the 15" 2.2 GHz it's $100. Does anybody know why the same 128GB SSD costs differently on every MBP?

Probably because the Machines are already expensive so its a kinda compensation if you buy the most expensive one get some extras cheaper :D

You get a credit of sorts for the drive they would have put in.

Yeah, see what default drive they WOULD have had. For example, if it would come with a 500 gb HDD, then the price of the upgrade would be the cost of the 128 gb SSD minus the cost of the 500 gb HDD (because the original price of the computer already had the HDD factored in)
