what are the chances of 512GB SDD's being standard in base model 2013 15" rMBP's? or at least cheaper than £400 to upgrade

anyone have any data on ssd pricing etc?

thanks

look at NewEgg.com

They have some good prices, and vary by model either Sata II or Sata III

Intel SSD's seem to be reliable and fair $ for performance.

I know some folks like them, but others can not spend the money, give it time as they are all coming down in price, you can not get a 256 SIII for just a tad over $120.00

Decent 512 for just over $300, this is a popular model here

I do not think Apple will make the large ones standard just yet, maybe another 18-24 months 512 will be standard

I think it will be a long time before you see 512GB as standard, but SSD prices in general have been falling fast... so it would be a good guess the Apple upgrades will start to fall slightly over time also.

^^^ What he said. :D

if it costs $300 for a 512 then why not?

one other factor is that that rMBP are first gen and prices usually go down 2nd or 3rd gen iterations but if it doesn't then apple may compensate by offering more storage. wishful thinking I know...
