Right now I have a 320gb 7200rpm hard drive in my mbp, I'm interested in a solid state that's bigger than the 256gb apple offers. Do they make 300+ ssd's for a decent price? If so where can I buy one.

Also, I have 4gb of ram in my mbp, it's the early 2008 model. Can I run 8gb in it? Do I just need one 4gb stick or two? (not sure if this one has 2 2gb sticks or not"

thanks.

SSDs are expensive. Period. If you consider hundreds of $$ a decent price, go for it! Also, no, you can't put 8GB in your computer. One thing to consider before you post is searching; these questions have been answered before.
