SSD Recommendation for Mid-2009 MacBook Pro

Can anyone please recommend an SSD is the 256 GB range to replace a HDD in a Mid-2009 model MacBook Pro? I came across the SanDisk x300s on iFixit, but after some research I see it's not much faster than a HDD as it has some self-encryption technology.

Any help from you knowledgeable folks would be huge appreciated.

Hi,

your Mac has a SATA 2 "only" hard drive interface (3 Gbps), therefore you do not need a "fast" SSD.

Crucial MX100 is a great choice (I do not know the new BX serie).

Thanks very much, this is VERY helpful. Would this specific model do the job? http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/ssd/ct256mx100ssd1 I'm just unsure about the physical size of the hard drive. I'm assuming they're all a standard size for laptops?
