I am wondering what are the best ways to control space on my ssd. I checked and see that most of my current hard drive is being taken up with itunes movies. Is it possible to move the movies to an external drive but leave the music on the internal drive? Saving space is important because I only have a 160 gb ssd that i will be installing. Are there any tips that anyone has to save space? I will also be creating a windows partition.

For my setup, I have an external 500GB HDD with movies, tv shows and time machine backups on it, I have my music on my SSD long with photos, apps, books and ringtones.

I would recommend movin it all to an external HDD and copying the music and most commonly use stuff to the SSD after installing, leave the movies etc on the external HDD.

iTunes will allow you to do this, provided you set the preferences to manage files yourself.

Anything is possible it all depends on how you want to set it up.

I have reserved my SSD for the OS and Apps. Everything else goes on my second internal HDD.
