Any word on when the next gen SSD's are going to be released? 32nm?

I'm interested in buying an SSD for my system (see signature) but if the next generation SSDs are right around the corner, it sounds logically to wait...

The new SSDs will be 25nm. I believe Crucial's C400 SSDs will be the first ones out of the gate. I'd say you would be much better off waiting. Intel's G3 will follow shortly after. All this is supposed to take place in Q1.

Depends on what size you're looking for, IMO. I have no issues with spending $100 - $120 on a 60GB drive. I keep all my media on regular HDDs. If you're looking at 240GB+ SSDs then I suppose it might be worth it to wait and see... Really not a bad time to buy though..

IIRC the shrink is from 32nm to 25nm...with that said, the Crucial C300 (older 32nm) will actually last longer than the C400 (newer 25nm)...some editors have noted that long-term durability of the smaller flash is (while still very, very long) less than the larger size

Idc when the new ones come out I care when a 512GB SSD isn't 1000 dollars...Anyone know why there so expensive? I thought flash memory was getting cheaper...

My first SSD was 64GB and it cost me $1000:p

25nm chips are already making their way into some of the current generation ocz products. I bought around christmas as there was a bunch of rebates(most of which still seem to be going on at various stores) They don't want to be holding the old models when the new ones come out. There are deals to be had, I'm just not sure if widespread 25nm adoption will drive prices down that much. It's pretty much a gamble whatever you do.

I have several 160GB Intel G2s right now. The gap between the G1 and the G2 didn't seem long, but it now seems like ages ago that the G2 came out.

Anyway, the 300GB Intel G3s are supposed to be priced similar to what 160GB G2s are selling for now. No idea on what the 600GB G3s will go for, but rumor has it they will be less expensive than the competition's current 512GB models.
