I bought an OCZ Vertex 30gb last week and after some fooling around decided to get the Agility 60gb instead. The 30 was just too small for what I needed.

BUT the Agility 1AGT60G has been nothing but a headache. It took 4 attempts to get the OS to install at all (it kept saying "install failed") and now that Snow Leopard is running, the computer locks up after a few minutes. I had seen a few positive reviews for this drive...am I doing something wrong or is it defective?

Try to update the firmware http://www.ocztechnology.com/ssd_tools/All_OCZ_Indilinx-Based_SSDs/
be careful updating the firmware I heard that in ssd's that's a dangerous procedure ..

edit: on a second look I can't seem to find any firmware upgrade for your drive.. maybe you should check ocz support forums

Unfortunately, neither my bootcamp partition nor the access to it from parallels works with the SSD installed. I removed my superdrive to add the SSD as a second drive.

Get yourself a Kingston V+ series. Take a look at the reviews on Newegg.com, plus you can't beat the price. Do not get the V series. Must be the V+ series. I love mine. No degredation after 5 months of use and well over 1TB of data added and deleted. It does support TRIM assuming I ever use my bootcamp partition of Windows 7. :D
